|Jun 4 Training Session to Help Monarchs|
Free Training Session - Jun 4, 10 a.m. at the Observatory
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
Prince Edward Point has been designated as a Monarch Butterfly Reserve since 1995.
Mission Monarch is a citizen science initiative launched in 2016 by the Montreal Insectarium in order to better understand monarch population decline. This program will ultimately help conserve and re-establish monarch populations across Canada.
At selected sites, monitoring generally occurs every other week from June to September. There have been 4 monitoring sights established within Prince Edward Point NWA at the front boundary sign, at the gate to the cross trail, just off the fishermen’s way and on the south beach up by the lighthouse. In the past, it has taken two people about half a day to complete all sites.
If anyone would like to be a part of this project, please contact PEPtBO (email@example.com) and CWS can provide a training day on the monitoring protocol and set up a schedule.
