Day Volunteers at Prince Edward Point

Other than the Station Manager, PEPtBO is run entirely by a group of enthusiastic and friendly volunteers.
We welcome anyone who shares the goals of PEPtBO and would like to help.  There is a place for you at the Observatory.  Please consider joining us!

What do Day Volunteers do?
  • Extract birds from the nets during banding seasons (training provided)
  • Scribe data collected by the bander
  • Assist with maintenance of the Observatory
  • Lead walks for visitors or school groups
  • Serve on a Special Events Committee (Spring Birding Festival, Fall Dinner, Science Rendezvous, Migration Matters Weekend)
  • Serve on the Board of Directors
  • Complete surveys or point counts for the Important Bird Area (4 times a year)
